Skip Hire Sizes

By providing a reliable skip delivery and collections service offering hassle-free and effective waste disposal, you can count on us for a range of projects, whether personal or professional. We are fully committed to the environment so we will recycle materials wherever possible. We understand that each project is different, requiring different-sized skips depending on your needs.

Therefore, we offer both long- and short-term skip hire so you can hire the skip for as long as necessary. Whilst considering which skip to hire, we recommend visualising how much waste you want to dispose of so you can pick an appropriately sized skip. If you’re not sure which size you need, don’t worry as our expert team can work with you to help determine which skip size best meets your needs.

Skip Hire Sizes

2 Cubic Yards

2 cubic yard skips have the following dimensions:

5ft (1.52m) long x 4ft (1.22m) wide x 3ft (0.91m) high.

Our 2-yard skips are the smallest size of skip that we offer, which are ideal for smaller clear-out jobs, spring cleaning your house or for getting rid of your garden waste. The compact size of these skips
means that we can often place these skips off-road on even the smallest of driveways.

4 Cubic Yards

4 cubic yard skips have the following dimensions:

6’6″x6’x3’6

Making them useful for small renovation projects which require more capacity than 2 cubic yards.

6 Cubic Yards

6 cubic yard skips have the following dimensions:

10’6″x5’6″x3’6″

Holding the equivalent of 40-55 bin bags, 6 cubic yards is the most common skip size and are perfect for DIY or building projects, such as removing a medium-sized kitchen or large bathroom.

Additionally, they are suitable for larger projects such as clearing out an entire house, or disposing of items such as old furniture and bulky, awkward items such as mattresses, as well as larger garden projects where you are removing lots of organic waste material.

8 Cubic Yards

8 cubic yard skips have the following dimensions:

10’6″x5’6″x4′

Holding the equivalent of 60-75 bin bags, the 8-yard skip is the second most common skip size, which is very useful for large home or garden renovations, residential refurbishment projects, shoprefits and office clearances.

This gives you more room to work with than 6-yard skips, which is useful if you think that your project’s scope may expand. This makes them the perfect size for construction waste and are very popular amongst builders.

10 Cubic Yards

10 cubic yard skips have the following dimensions:

6’6″x6’x3’6

Making them great for large home projects or when you want to dispose of large bulky items.

12 Cubic Yards

Holding the equivalent of 90-110 bin bags, a 12 yard skip is very useful for larger refurbishment works, house clearances or office clearances.

As these skips have larger dimensions, some councils may not allow 12-yard skips to be put on the road, so we would advise checking that you have enough room for it in your garden or driveway before hiring.
